A unique event for the benefit of a humanitarian cause
The Grand Prix Photo of Saint-Tropez supports the association "Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque":
Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque is a French association that allows children with heart defects and from disadvantaged countries to have surgery in France when it is impossible at home due to lack of technical or financial means. Hosted by volunteer host families and operated in 9 cities in France (Angers, Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Paris, Strasbourg, Toulouse and Tours), nearly 3,500 children have already been cared for since the creation of the Association by Professor Francine Leca in 1996.

Thanks to Francis Dagnan and the Grand Prix Photo of Saint-Tropez organisers, I have the pleasure and the honour to include this little note. I was able to help select the photographs included in this year’s competition. They have chosen Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque as their "partner" and friend! It was a fascinating undertaking as they were all quite exciting and the discussions were animated. The photos chosen are, in my opinion, all the more beautiful as they will help raise funds to provide life-saving operations for children suffering from heart defects.
The idea of associating art and culture with humanitarian aid is a beautiful symbol.
I want to thank all those who created the concept and brought it to fruition. The high point of this extensive, voluntary yet highly qualitative and enthusiastic work is the auction! I think the benefit from participating in the event will be twofold: the pleasure of owning a beautiful work of art and that of saving a child. What could be better?"
