Grand Prix Photo 2025 raises €48,000 to save the lives of four children!
Saturday’s auction was the epilogue to the 11th edition of the Grand Prix Photo. Maître Théo Lavignon of the Beaussant Lefèvre et associés auction house led the auction, with the assistance of Roch Lorente.

Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque is an association set up by Professor Francine Leca in 1996 to enable children with heart defects to undergo surgery when this is not possible in their own countries due to lack of technical or financial resources. Over 5,000 children have been treated since the association was founded.

In the previous edition …

The Grand Prix Photo presented a €72,000 donation to the “Mécénat Chirirgie Cardiaque” association, to help save 6 children’s lives.

The organizers and partners of the Grand Prix Photo Saint-Tropez met on October 11 at the Salon de la Photo in Paris, on the stand of their partner CANON, to close the 10th edition. On this occasion, the Grand Prix Photo association presented a cheque for €72,000 to the “Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque” association, the proceeds of the 2024 edition of the Grand Prix Photo de Saint-Tropez. This amount will help save the lives of 6 children suffering from cardiac pathologies who have no access to treatment in their country of birth.

Testimonials

“Photography is an art. It captures a moment, an emotion, to make them eternal. A child’s heart is also a work of art. Auctioning off a photo to repair a little heart is to unite the beautiful with the good, the aesthetic with the humanitarian.
This initiative is all the more beautiful, as it is born from the impulse of people with heart, thank you!”

Orso Chetochine,Director of Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque and son of Francine Leca

“Combining art and solidarity: this is the credo of the Grand Prix Photo association.
For, in addition to giving us the opportunity to see the work of renowned photographers, the association plays a very important and infinitely praiseworthy role in benefiting the “Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque” association, which helps children with heart malformations from underprivileged countries where it is not possible for them to undergo surgery.
I’d like to offer my warmest congratulations and thanks to all the association’s key players, and to express my gratitude for the fantastic work they do.
Long live the Grand Prix Photo de Saint-Tropez!”

Sylvie Siri, Mayor of Saint-Tropez – Regional Councillor

“Canon, the world leader in photography, once again confirms its commitment to the organizers of the Grand Prix Photo de Saint-Tropez, which supports the humanitarian cause of Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque.
Canon is a leader in the image chain, from its capture by photographers to its rendition for the most beautiful prints…
But beyond its role as a manufacturer, Canon pays particular attention to the company’s social and environmental dimension.
It is in this context that we have been supporting the work of the Grand Prix Photo de Saint-Tropez for several years, through a partnership based on photographic talent and the sharing of images with as many people as possible. In this respect, we are proud to enable children with heart defects to undergo surgery in France.

“In today’s world, the values upheld by your Association are necessary and appreciated. Thinking of the many people you have already supported, and of all those who still need to be supported, I am not only deeply moved by your commitment and perseverance, but also convinced that I must support your cause.
You are concerned by the serious problems facing our society, and because I appreciate the integrity and efficiency with which you use your resources to ensure a better future for children, I am writing to you today to express my support for your cause in the form of a sponsorship for the present edition of the Grand Prix Photo de Saint-Tropez in favor of “Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque”. Thank you for your commitment and perseverance. Keep up the good work.”
